Start by parking your vessel on its trailer on a flat, even surface with good drainage. A concrete or gravel driveway will do fine, as the runoff won't make its way onto your lawn. Next, take a minute to walk around your vessel and remove any unnecessary items that don't need to be stored on board, and put loose items back in their corresponding storage areas.

Cleaning Steps

  • Start by removing any loose debris or debris from the deck. Use a broom or a brush to sweep off any dirt or debris that may have accumulated on the deck.
  • Clean the boat's hull using a pressure washer or a bucket of soapy water and a sponge. Be sure to use a mild soap designed for boats to avoid damaging the paint or gel coat.
  • Pay special attention to the waterline and areas where dirt and grime tend to accumulate. Use a stiff-bristled brush to scrub away any stubborn stains or discoloration.
  • After cleaning the hull, rinse off the boat with a hose or a pressure washer. You’ll want to rinse all the soap off the boat to avoid leaving any residue.
  • Next, move on to the interior of the boat. Start by removing any loose debris or trash from the cabin and cockpit areas.
  • Use mild soap and warm water to wipe down the interiors, including the seats, tables, and counters. Pay special attention to frequently used areas, such as the galley and the head.
  • Clean the windows and mirrors using a glass cleaner and a soft cloth.
  • Finally, take care of the boat's hardware, such as the cleats, the deck fittings, and the metal parts.
